Helping Youth Help Themselves!

We are a not-for-profit registered charity that provides youth with programs that promote and facilitate positive behaviour, creative expression, and cooperative working skills.

We exist to foster independence and responsibility in those we serve, empowering them with their own desires to become active, constructive, caring members of the community.

In our programs, the values of trust, respect, cooperation, and non violence form the core of all activities. When these values are reinforced with active listening, counseling, referrals when necessary, and a sound academic and arts based education, youth are able to become active and constructive citizens.

Upgrading programs at Inner City take place with a sincere respect for the natural intelligence of the youth in our programs. This sense of respect creates an atmosphere of hope and possibility.

The Inner City Youth Development Association (ICYDA) helps youth at risk move forward.

Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation

Thanks to the continued support of the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation (EOCF) we now have a new home. During December the foundation contracted architects and construction companies to renovate the former Native Friendship Center at 11205 101 Street. It was a major undertaking and everyone, EOCF, Dialog Architects, Richking Interiors and their sub contractors worked above and beyond the call of duty to get us into the building by January 3, 2011.

Thanks to the City of Edmonton Community Services for their continued support.

Thanks to the Gandhi Foundation for World Peace for their continued support.

A special thanks to the sponsors of our first community run, the 29th Annual Fall Classic.
